Ridgewood Village is a residential neighborhood in west Austin, Texas, situated in the 78746 zip code approximately four miles west of downtown. The neighborhood rises along the terrain between Rollingwood and Stratford Place, within the Eanes Independent School District boundary. Most homes in Ridgewood Village were originally built during the 1950s and 1960s on mid-sized to larger lots, though a number of the older structures have been replaced with newer construction since the early 2000s. Home sizes range from approximately 1,300 square feet for unremodeled originals to upward of 5,000 square feet for newer builds, and the neighborhood contains a mix of single-story ranch plans, mid-century designs, and contemporary two-story homes on tree-lined streets.
Eanes ISD serves roughly 8,000 students across ten campuses and consistently ranks among the top-performing districts in Texas. Eanes Elementary, located at 4101 Bee Caves Road in West Lake Hills, is the longest continuously used school campus in the state of Texas, established in 1872, and earned National Blue Ribbon School recognition in 1996-97 and 2005. The school enrolls approximately 551 students with an 11-to-1 student-teacher ratio, and state test scores show 85 percent of students proficient in math and 84 percent in reading.
