About Big Sky Ranch
Big Sky Ranch is a 200-acre master-planned community built by Meritage Homes in Dripping Springs, Texas (Hays County). Meritage Homes, the seventh-largest homebuilder in the United States, spent 18 months in collaborative planning with the City of Dripping Springs before launching sales in July 2020. Located northeast of downtown Dripping Springs and directly adjacent to Founders Memorial Park, the community is planned for approximately 700 single-family homes at full build-out.
Homes range from approximately 1,477 to 3,448 square feet across multiple collections. The Heritage Collection featured two-story bungalow plans from 1,637 to 2,325 square feet. The Texana Collection offered single- and two-story plans from 1,562 to 2,806 square feet. Both, along with the Founders Collection (2,004 to 3,448 square feet on the largest estate lots), have sold out. The Reserve Collection (1,477 to 2,812 square feet) and Executive Collection (1,893 to 3,355 square feet) continue offering new construction. All homes are built with ENERGY STAR certified construction, M.Connected Home smart-home products, quartz countertops, and engineered vinyl plank flooring.
Nearly a quarter of the development's acreage — 48 acres — is dedicated to parkland and open space. Residents enjoy a 3.1-acre amenity center with a resort-style pool and splash pad, five pocket parks, a play lawn, tree conservation areas, a greenbelt, and 1.7 miles of trails that connect directly into the adjacent Founders Memorial Park. The Dr. Pound Historical Farmstead, a property on the National Register of Historic Places dating to 1854, sits adjacent to the neighborhood and hosts the Dripping Springs Farmers Market.
